Saarlouis information
Saarlouis with around 34.200 inhabitants is the sixth largest city in the Saarland. The city is the administrative seat of the district Saarlouis and is considered a school and trade center. The economic focus is the auto industry. From 1966 the German Ford plants built in the new industrial area Roederberg a large automobile plant. With around 6.500 employees, the plant is one of the largest employers in the region, and there are also 2.000 jobs at the surrounding suppliers.
