Information about Donauwörth and Genderkingen
The former Free Imperial City Donauworth is located in northern Swabia at the mouth of the Wörnitz in the Danube. It originated from a fishing settlement on the Wörnitz island "Ried". It has one of the most beautiful streets in southern Germany: the Reichsstraße between the town hall and the Fuggerhaus with its impressive patrician houses. Donauwörth itself has around 7.500 inhabitants - with associated districts and locations around 20.000 inhabitants. Resident companies include doll manufacturer Käthe Kruse and, of course, are interesting from a helicopter perspective: Airbus helicopter. The airfield Genderkingen is located about six kilometers southeast of the historic city center of Donauwörth and two kilometers west of the village of Genderkingen. The river flows three kilometers to the east Lech, one and a half kilometers north of the Danube.
