Information about Ganderkesee
Ganderkesee is about 20 km west of the Bremer Center, on the northern edge of the Wildeshauser Geest nature park. The municipality of Ganderkesee borders the city in the east Delmenhorst, in the north to the municipalities of Lemwerder and Berne in the Wesermarsch district and to the municipality of Hude, in the west to the municipality of Hatten and in the south to the municipalities of Dötlingen and Harpstedt.
Ganderkesee has three basic structural centers with the appropriate infrastructure. The population of the municipality concentrates on the one hand on the core town of Ganderkesee, on the other hand on a strip along the railway line from Oldenburg to Bremen with the districts of Bookholzberg, Rethorn and Schierbrok. The districts of Heide and Elmeloh form a settlement area with the neighboring districts of Delmenhorst and are therefore also densely populated. The remaining areas of the municipality are sparsely populated and more agricultural.
